Long Class: Root Veggies and Pea Pods

Copyright by Deb Arnold

Pre-requisites/Level: Intermediate (Needle or Shuttle)

Supplies: 2 shuttles, size 20 green thread, recommended.

Copyright by Deb Arnold Techniques: Floating rings (rings off of chains), shoe lace trick, and slope-and-roll (Judy Banachek term) join. Also use of paper clips as space holders and I will bring a box of those. Also includes a normal join we all know how to do, just done a bit differently. The other veggies possible, depending on time, are a split-ring carrot and an onion using the catherine wheel join (Snowgoose term).

Short class: Okra! (cross-section of an okra pod)

Pre-requisites/Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Supplies: 4 yards of green thread, size 20, (ball and shuttle) and about 2 yards white thread, size 20, (shuttle), and a crochet hook to help twist picots

Copyright by Deb Arnold

A mere 110 double stitches and a seemingly simple project, it is chock full of techniques: self-closing mock ring, twisted picots, "direct" (like the 2nd half of a split ring--unflipped ds) tatting which is actually tatting white
ds on a green thread picot!, encapsulating thread within scmr and lock join.

Anyone want to have gumbo ready for a hearty snack after class? Grin!
