Bio
TERRY THE TATTER
I learned to tat 12 years ago from a friend who spent 3 hours with me, left me with a shuttle, ball of thread and a book and moved out of state. I picked up that shuttle and have rarely put it down tatting 1-3 hours a day. All other crafts disappeared when I saw the beautiful lace spilling from my fingers.

For the last 10 years I have been teaching beginning through advanced tatting at our local junior college. In 1994 a club formed from former students and I was challenged to learn new patterns and techniques to teach them. I used a simple edging, mirrored, to make an ornament and the group loved it so I went on to using other patterns and finally creating my own until I have now have 60 plus original patterns of covered glass balls, bells, eggs and other shapes.

In 2000 I compiled 26 of these patterns and put together my book, Tatted Ornaments. Since the beginning of the on-line tatting groups, I've honed my skills and techniques and am so grateful to these groups for the advanced techniques learned. I enjoy creating new patterns and seeing what I can do to other patterns to make them uniquely my own and sharing these techniques and patterns with others. I've enjoyed traveling around to other groups inspiring them to create their own patterns.
