| Bio
Debbie Arnold, born in 1963, began tatting in the winter of 1995/96 in
an
effort to gain more ribbons at the county fair--hardly anyone entered the
tatting category. She submitted a poorly done tatted doily that summer
and
ended up with a blue ribbon the piece did not deserve. She didn't think
she
would continue to tat as it produced too many ends to hide and hiding ends
was very frustrating. Fortunately, Randy and Gary Houtz took her under
their wings and taught her many fun techniques, the least of which
was
tatting-over-tails. Since then, she has loved tatting. She started
designing in 1999 and won "Best of Show" in "Tatting and
Other Lace" at the
2003 Colorado State Fair with an original design (Dad's doily at
http://www.ds9designs.com/patterns.html). Her hobbies include tatting,
crocheting, knitted lace, cross-stitch, hardanger as well as gardening
and
home canning.
Her tatting patterns can be seen at
