Class 1: Friday at 1
Orchids
Beginner, Project

Description
The ring is the oldest element in tatting followed by the chain. You will learn to join the center rings to one picot, which creates the orchid shape based on the stitch count of round two.

Project
The class project will be an orchid corsage. In addition, a bonus pattern in your handout will be a tulip pattern.

Techniques
Ring, Chain, and learn how to encapsulate your threads to form a stem and add very long picots to form leaves.

Skill Level
Beginner/basic level. Must know how to make rings, picots, and joins.

Supplies
Binder clip for encapsulation (any size)
Thread, 3 colors, size 10,20 or 40
3 shuttles
Small crochet hook if you are not using shuttles with built-in-hooks
20 inch length of ribbon for the corsage any color of your choice

I will have a kit for $2 that will include two 1 1/4 inch pin backs, 20 inches of wired ribbon straight head pin, and a binder clip.


Class 2: Saturday at 8:30
Summer Love Flower Ensemble
Intermediate, Project

Description
This is a simple but elegant design. You will learn to use the 2nd half of the ds to create a masterpiece that works up quickly. In my design, I use cut beads.

Project
The class project will consist of making earrings, a bracelet and a necklace.

Techniques
Rings, chains, a special join is used to create the stand up petals of the flower.

Tatted Jewelry

Skill Level
Intermediate. You must know rings, chains and joins. You will learn how to measure and add the Summer Love Flower and beads without cutting your thread.

Supplies
· An 18-gram tube of size 11 beads, and size 40 or 30 thread in any color of your choice.
· Ball and shuttle
· Earring posts, clasp, and jump ring, two 4mm pearls, one 6mm pearl, two lobster claw clasps, and 4 jump rings. (A kit will be available for $4.)

Homework/Preparation
Add 1056 beads to the ball thread. Wind one shuttle in CTM (continuous thread method) leaving all the beads on the ball thread.


Class 3: Saturday at 1:30
Strawberry Patch Flower
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate, Project

Description
This design reflects summer and the enjoyments of picking strawberries in a strawberry patch. You will learn dimpled chains and making pistils using thrown off rings.

Project
The class project will be strawberry flowers encapsulated together. You will receive a bonus pattern-the Strawberry I created from Rita Cochrane’s Thistle Pin from Georgia Seitz’s online tatting class.

Skill Level
Advanced Beginner to Intermediate: You must know how to make rings, chains, and know how to use a second shuttle to make thrown off rings.

Supplies
· Clip for encapsulation
· Thread: green for the stems, yellow and gold for the pistils, and white for the petals
· 4 shuttles

Skill Level: All skill levels.
Supplies: Anything in your bag.


On Time: As a courtesy to your teacher and your classmates, please arrive ON TIME to your scheduled classes. If you finish your project early, or would like additional time to visit, shop, or see the lace display, you may leave any class early.
