Service Description

Description In this workshop, Victoria will teach beginners how to create a beautiful edging pattern with a detailed colored border around the edges of a project. Skills Required Must be comfortable using short needles similar in size to sewing needles. Must have good hand/eye coordination Techniques Taught Turkish Needle Lace: Knotted Lace Technique Learning Points: • Knots and Loops- The Fundamental Units in Needle Lace Technique • Decreasing Loops in a Row • Casting on New Color or Adding More Thread • Good Practice with Tail Ends and Casting On • Weaving the thread and the weave loop • Outlining the Pattern Undoing Knots and Mistakes Materials/Supplies Gold-plated tapestry needle size #18. Lizbeth Thread size #10 or 20 in at least 2 colors (Ideally, white, and 4 other colors). Sharp scissors. Seam ripper. Needle threader. Participants must bring: Handkerchief with hemstitching OR mesh plastic canvas (commonly used for cross-stitching) for the best experience in class if they do not purchase the custom plastic template for class. Optional: Desk lamp Magnifying lens for those who have trouble seeing. Kit $6.00 optional kit for participants only Notes Class will be repeated once during the 2022 Tat Days
